Responding to God's Longing

Again, the longing of God is 'All shall know Me'. Yet that has to translate into a pursuit in our hearts. Don't be stopped by lack of experiencing God as a result of the degree you have asked or pursued Him .... (Hosea 6:3 and 2 Chronicles 15:2 encourage us that He will come to us.)

God's Longing: All Shall Know Me

Jesus revealed eternal life is to open up knowing God, the Father, and Jesus. In the New Covenant, one of the pledges of the covenant is "All shall know Me". Jesus is the guarantee of the new covenant promises. So through these words of assurance, God calls to the heart that hears the promise and word of assurance and would turn it into a pursuit.

A Man Called Matthew

As believers in the Lord, we all face different experiences of discouragement, uniquely in these months of separation due to the covid pandemic. We have to fight for encouragement. Encouragement is a spiritual need.

Empty or Full?

Sunday Morning Service October 18th.
The Eyes of Your Heart

In Ephesians 1:17, the apostle Paul prayed that the eyes of our heart would be given light. What he's implying is to see and understand, spiritually. The eyes of the heart can see things that God would show us by the Holy Spirit. My heart desires that we are given light, not just to see things to the point of encouragement; but that we see things from God and they happen 'in the present'.
Hearing from the Lord

Those who believe in the Lord, more than likely, hear from Him more than they realize. In this teaching, we look at a few ways the Lord speaks to us, through the word of God, by His Spirit in us, and even through thoughts. Listen to this teaching to increase our awareness of what we're hearing, so we may realize and discover, at times, God really speaks to our heart.
Wait for Him

The last phrase in Isaiah 49:23 can be looked at as a promise among promises, where God encourages the heart to hopefully wait for Him. Our wanting God to work many times has to be translated in our hearts to waiting for Him to work. This is learned in the life of a believer over time. Listen to the assurance God gives along with the instruction and encouragement He gives us to wait for Him.
Come Home

God is revealed as our 'eternal home'. Proverbs 27:8, speaks of the one who wanders from his home. The Lord put this in my heart relating it to the one who wanders from God, our eternal home. But God sent His Son to make it possible for the one who wandered from his eternal home to "come home" to Him. May God call hearts to Himself in the hearing of this word.

Tuning in to God's Frequency

We tune in to the Holy Spirit through waiting on God and ministering to the Lord. These practices open us up to the Spirit of God and the things that He has prepared for us.
More about Waiting upon the LORD

Waiting upon the LORD is further explained and related to Hebrews 13:20-21, where God is revealed as being able to "equip us in all things to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight." The Holy Spirit is able to teach our heart to wait upon the LORD, if we are willing to set aside time to be before Him. May God use the teaching to wait upon the LORD to open up our hearts to Himself.
The Fourfold Blessing

Reading from Isaiah 40:28-31 (MEV) -- the phrase 'wait upon the LORD' is often misunderstood. It is a call to our heart to look only to God and rely completely on Him as we stay before Him. This word strongly teaches that 'waiting upon the LORD' is a present need in the lives of believers, and a fourfold blessing comes to the person who learns to practice it, as Isaiah 40:28-31 reveals.

Trust That He Will Do It (Part 2)

Looking again at the promise God spoke in Psalm 32:8, and seeing how David trusted the Lord to teach him the way in which he should walk -- we're encouraged to seek the Lord along these lines in our walk with Him. We're in need of the Lord teaching us the way in which we should walk in this hour.
Trust That He Will Do It

We are to realize and recognize that the Holy Spirit will illuminate the word of God in our heart and, at times, speak to our heart. We often don't realize it's Him. God desires to 'teach us and instruct us in the way which we should go" just as He said in Psalm 32:8. We are to learn to trust He really will do it, even though it may not happen immediately.
What You've Heard And Encouragement

It's important to continue to pay attention to what we've heard about the Lord, learn to encourage ourselves in the Lord, and with the encouragement that comes from others learn how to fight certain things in life in a 'give-it-all-you've-got' mode.
What You Hear

Do you find yourself battling kind of a foggy, undefined feeling: "I don't know where to read", when it comes to the word of God? Understand why you are experiencing a spiritual conflict, and why "hearing" is so important to a believer's walk.
Jesus, the Overcomer

In John 16:33, Jesus said: "I have overcome the world." In fellowship with Him and listening to Him, we share in His overcoming. A major issue related to overcoming is what you listen to. Take this word to heart because it will make a difference in your walk.
Things Related to Letting Go - Part 2

An important prayer to learn comes from Psalm 143:8, where David prays: "Teach me the way in which I should walk." Letting go, putting things in God's hands and trusting Him is a way in which the Holy Spirit taught David to walk. Trusting the Lord in that way will give peace to a person's heart.
Things Related to Letting Go

I've been impressed by a particular aspect of the faith David walked in, where he would let go, put things in God's hands and trust Him. The evidence of his trust was that he sang praise to God. This has been very encouraging to my heart. May it encourage those who hear.
Don't Miss It

In this turbulent time, is it possible God is sending a critical message to His children about what our priorities should be now, and what is to come? Pastor Chip explores these questions in his sermon "Don't miss it". May it encourage you in this hour.
Stay -- Something Always Happens!

There are a few events that took place in the gospels where the word "stay" is expressed in connection to Jesus. Every time we see that word "stay" connected to Him, something always happens. Come and listen to some of the wonderful things that happen.
Stay with Him

I was impressed by what took place when two disciples of John the Baptist followed Jesus and stayed with Him on a particular day. What took place in the life of Andrew is a picture of what takes place in the lives of many who come to the Lord.
Come to Him Continually

Looking further at what Jesus said in John 6:35, as we respond to what Jesus said, God causes the work that took place on the cross to become an inward work.
Come to Him as He is Revealed

Jesus spoke of two things working together in the heart: coming to Him and believing in Him. Learning how to apply this opens up many blessings between us and the Lord.
Jesus Defeated Satan Where He Had Defeated People

Though I've read the account of the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness several times, I never saw this before. The Son God defeated satan in places where he had defeated people. It is the intention of God, that Jesus, His Son would accomplish the same in the lives of those who believe in Him today.

In a Time of Finding Out

David, in Psalm 32, speaks of "a time of finding out'. It is a time when God searches the heart. It is also a time when He may be found. Listen to this word that has a bearing on the time we're in now with covid-19.

Daily Manna

There is a lesson every believer can learn from what God was teaching the children of Israel in the wilderness concerning Manna. Jesus, the Son of God, and the word of God is to become in the life of a believer "daily manna". Listen to understand how this applies to you.
Our Perception of God

As a person opens their heart to the Lord, over time, God will work in them to develop a perception of Him, the way we see Him. Learning to continue in that perception of God will enable our hearts to grow in confidence toward Him in different ways, and in different areas of our life.
The Story or The Son

Is Easter a story left behind in church after an Easter service? May God stir our heart to choose the difference between the story and the Son. (Easter 2019)
Taking Hold of the Lord

Speaking from Isaiah 64:7, we look at four areas where a believer can learn to take hold of the Lord.
Was God's Redemption a Success?

What we celebrate as Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, actually set in motion God's plan of redemption. Was His plan a success? Can we in some way know whether God's plan of redemption was a success? Listen to the teaching of the word of God. May God grant our hearts the benefit and blessing of redemption in our personal lives through Jesus Christ!
Worship The Father

Becoming worshipers in our personal lives involves an attitude of 'letting it all go' to come before Him to worship. The Father is seeking those who would learn to worship Him beyond worship services and worship ministry. Worship also involves us in a unique type of spiritual warfare. When you let it all go to be before Him and worship, He is greatly pleased!
Do Not Throw Away Your Confidence

Sometimes we go through things and lose sight of the importance of drawing near to God, and our confidence to draw near feels like it's been weakened. It's vital to remember what our confidence to draw near is based on. Nothing we go through can weaken it.
The Woman at the Well

Jesus goes through Samaria for one lost sheep, the woman at the well. His offer of Living Water touches a broken and ruined place inside of her. At times the way the Lord desires to work in us is to build on top of the ruined places in our life, something new.
What Are You Listening To?

If you're praying yet dwelling on everything that you don't like, what makes you unhappy, and things that are negative, your meditation will sour everything the Lord is seeking to encourage you with. Take care what you listen to inside.
Cease Striving

God desires us to let go, put the entire matter in His hands and trust Him. When we lean on the Lord in our hearts, then the battle is the Lord's.
Return To Him

Revival

What is revival? How is it released in us and in the church? How does God respond to the cry born of brokenness? Let's look at the scriptures and find the keys to seeing an open heaven revival.

Love Surpasses Knowledge

At Christmas time, Satanists in Michigan sue to set up a competing "nativity" display on the public green, which declared "The greatest gift is knowledge". How does the Baby Jesus in a manger compete with that message? We look at Eph 3:19 for the answer.
